Global Network infrastructure specialist Siemon has launched a new 2011/12 product and systems catalogue for customers in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Designed specifically to help customers select the ideal products for their country or region, from Siemon’s extensive global portfolio, the new catalogue covers both complete infrastructure systems and individual networking products.
The new catalogue arranges products into their appropriate systems to simplify the process of selecting an end-to-end cabling infrastructure at speeds up to and beyond 10Gb/s. It features Siemon’s key product offerings including end-to-end category7A/class FA TERA®, Z-MAX™ category 6A shielded and UTP network cabling solutions and complete category 6 and category 5e systems.
In addition, the new catalogue features Siemon’s complete line of high-performance optical fibre cabling, including 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s-ready OM3 and OM4 MTP-based plug and play cable assembly and connectivity systems for data centres. Siemon’s full end-to-end LAN solution also includes 10Gb/s+ XGLO™ and 1Gb/s Lightsystem® single mode and multi mode fibre optic cable, innovative XLR8™ mechanical splice and epoxy polish SC and LC connectors, factory pre-terminated trunking cable assemblies, jumpers and pigtails as well as high-density fibre enclosures.
The new catalogue’s complete twisted-pair copper and fibre cabling solutions are also supported by Siemon’s MapIT G2™ intelligent infrastructure management system in copper and fibre, as well as the VersaPOD™ family of data centre cabinets and open racking products.
The catalogue has been designed for maximum clarity and simplicity of use with product by product sections and easy to follow colour coding throughout.
Innovative products featured in the 2011/12 catalogue are:
VersaPOD – Siemon’s space-saving, super high density data centre equipment cabinet, featuring Zero-U vertical patching and cable management space for switch, server, SAN and distribution area configuration. VersaPOD allows its entire 45U of space to be used for servers, switches and other active equipment, with none having to be sacrificed to house patch panels. Maximising density and space utilisation, the cabinet’s design also provides excellent accessibility and thermal efficiency.
Z-MAX – This revolutionary category 6A cabling solution offers the best guaranteed performance margins and fastest termination time in the industry. The system is available in both shielded (F/UTP) and unshielded (UTP) variants. With termination times under 60 seconds, Z-MAX features a linear termination module and unique Z-TOOL™ for the easiest and most reliable termination process.
MapIT G2 – Siemon’s high density next generation intelligent infrastructure management (IIM) system that can monitor up to 2880 ports in a single rack space. MapIT G2 offers best-in-class user interfaces, 80 per cent higher density and a 75 per cent reduction in power consumption versus competing systems plus excellent thermal efficiency and a new low profile design to maximise airflow in the cabinet.
Explaining the need for this new catalogue, Daniel Vout, Siemon’s marketing manager for EMEA said, “We wanted to make it easier and quicker for our customers to quickly select appropriate products and swiftly put together a complete system. As a global supplier, we have a huge range of products to suit every situation and specific networking need. This makes for a wealth of choice, but can create a daunting number of options. We recognised the need to have product catalogues to suit regional demands so systems can be swiftly composed that best suit local requirements.”
